Christine E. Boyle, Ph.D.

Dr. Christine Boyle is the founder and CEO of Valor Water Analytics. Her work focusses on developing decision support software that achieves both resource and financial sustainability goals for utilities. She received a doctorate in water resource planning in 2011 and “spun” Valor Water out of her thesis work at UNC.  She is a trustee of the Cal-Nevada American Water Works Association Operators Division and a water policy advisor for the World Bank.

Susan Smith

Susan’s team, based out of the Atlanta Metro area,  is composed of both the Product Management and Product Marketing resources for all of Neptune’s software and cloud-services platform solutions. Her global software experience spans over 20 years with specific focus areas in technology, IoT, software development, and customer engagement in both the telecommunications and data industries from companies such as BellSouth, Earthlink, AT&T Wireless, and Equifax, and most recently Neptune Technology Group. Susan has a Bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and an MBA from Georgia State University, with a concentration in Marketing.

Eric Rensel

Eric Rensel is a vice president based in Gannett Fleming’s corporate headquarters in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where he works to advance the firm’s smart infrastructure capabilities. He started with the firm more than 20 years ago as an intern, and now specializes in traffic incident management and intelligent transportation systems strategies, with a focus on roadway operational efficiency and safety. Rensel leads the firm’s connected and automated vehicle (CAV) working group, which informs clients on how CAV will impact the transportation industry. Rensel earned his Bachelor of Science in structural design and construction engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.

Jessica Hou, PE, BCEE, ENV SP

Jessica Hou, PE, BCEE, ENV SP, is a vice president in Gannett Fleming’s Virginia Beach, Virginia, office, and has been with the firm for 20 years. Hou helps lead Gannett Fleming’s Water Business Line to provide smart water solutions to their clients, and recently helped facilitate a smart cities readiness workshop for the City of Newport News, Virginia. She holds a Master of Engineering in environmental engineering and a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Old Dominion University (ODU). She is past chair of the ODU Civil and Environmental Engineering Visiting Council, a Board Certified Environmental Engineer in Water Supply and Wastewater, and an Envision Sustainability Professional.

Tammy has her Master’s in Public Administration and is a Project Management Professional.

She has worked in non-profit management and local government over 13 years.

Tammy leads special projects for the District including asset management, business metrics and project management enrichment.

She supports projects for finance, general management, operations and engineering services.

Annie Vanrenterghem Raven

For the past 23 years, Annie Vanrenterghem Raven has been helping utilities create rehabilitation and replacement plans for water and wastewater buried linear assets, first as a researcher at New York University (NYU), then through infraPLAN, a firm she created in 2008. At NYU she was the principal investigator for research projects funded by the NSF and the USEPA. Those allowed her to play a pioneering role in the industry and introduce advanced analytical approaches. She is a frequent speaker and participant at national conferences, workshops, and forums, and the author of numerous technical papers.

Doug Hatler is a Vice President at Fracta, Inc. He brings more than 30 years of experience leveraging technology to solve environmental problems. He is a published industry expert and featured speaker. Hatler earned a BS in Environmental Science and an MBA from Rutgers University. He earned an MS in Environmental Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Travis Wagner, P.E.

Travis Wagner is a national leader in the development and implementation of buried infrastructure asset management strategies providing innovative, yet practical solutions for utilities. He has architected numerous multi-year buried infrastructure asset management programs for significant inventories of pressurized pipe across North America and led those utilities to be recognized as best in class for pipeline integrity management. Currently, Wagner leads Pure Technologies’ Pipeline Management Group, which delivers innovative and advanced buried infrastructure integrity solutions to utilities.

Will Maize

Will Maize focuses on municipal water infrastructure projects and trends, including smart water technology applications and emerging technologies. Prior to joining Bluefield Research, he worked with SNC-Lavalin on the development of a $1.4 billion tolled highway facility in Toronto, Ontario. Maize is a licensed P.Eng., in Ontario and has a MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona and a B.Eng. from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Dave Russell

Dave Russell has led the development of technology for the detection of corroded and degraded areas in cast, ductile, steel and now PCCP pipes for the water and wastewater industry since the early 1990s. PICA’s parent company, Russell NDE Systems, designs and manufactures the In-Line Inspection Tools that PICA uses to inspect the pipelines with either a pull-through, or a free-swimming approach. Russell holds an MBA (marketing) and is the recipient of awards from Frost and Sullivan and ASTech Foundation for technology developments related to the water industry.
